Orange Screen Test Tool
Use this orange screen as a warm, soft light for evenings, photos and video, or to check warm color uniformity.
White Screen
Why use a White Screen?
This orange screen tool fills your display with solid orange (#FFA500). Orange is made with full red, about two-thirds green and no blue. It is mostly used as a warm, soft light for evenings, photos and videos, and it is also useful for checking how evenly your display shows warm colors.
How to Use the Orange Screen
- Open the orange screen and click the full-screen button.
- For light, lower brightness until the glow feels comfortable. For testing, turn brightness up.
- Press Esc or tap the button again to exit.
- Click Download to save an orange background image in 720p, 1080p, 4K or your screen size.
Orange Screen as Warm Light
Evening Reading and Relaxing
Orange light has almost no blue in it, so it feels much warmer and calmer than white. A dim orange screen works as a soft lamp when you want low light in the evening.
Candle-Like Glow for Photos and Video
Place a tablet or phone showing orange out of the frame to add a sunset or candlelight look to faces and objects. Use a large monitor or TV for a wider, softer light.
Mood Lighting
An orange screen on a TV gives a cozy background for a party, a themed stream or a seasonal photo.
Testing Your Display with Orange
- Warm color uniformity: look for areas that look more red or more yellow than the rest.
- Stuck blue subpixels: because blue is off, a stuck blue subpixel shows as a pale dot.
- Banding and gradients: uneven steps in a solid orange point to color processing or color depth limits.
For a complete pixel check, also run the red, green and blue screens.
Why Does My Screen Have an Orange Tint?
If everything on your screen looks orange, a warm display mode is usually turned on:
- Night Light (Windows), Night Shift (Mac and iPhone) or Eye Comfort (Android) is on or scheduled.
- The monitor or TV color temperature is set to warm or a reading mode.
- A game console or TV is using a cinema or filmmaker picture mode.
Turn these off, then check a white screen. If white still looks orange in only one area, the panel may be damaged.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is an orange screen better for night use than white?
An orange screen contains far less blue light than white. If you need light in the evening, a dim orange screen is a gentler choice.
What HEX code does this orange screen use?
It uses #FFA500. You can enter any other shade, such as a deeper #FF8C00, in the HEX field of the tool.
